Cleaners Balham Service Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions set out the basis on which Cleaners Balham provides domestic and commercial cleaning services. By booking or receiving any cleaning service from us, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before making a booking.
1. Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions, the following expressions have the meanings set out below.
Client means any individual, company or organisation that requests or receives services from Cleaners Balham.
Cleaner means an individual cleaner or team of cleaners assigned by Cleaners Balham to carry out the services.
Services means any cleaning or related services provided by Cleaners Balham, including but not limited to regular domestic cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, one off deep cleaning, office and commercial cleaning, and specialist cleaning where agreed in advance.
Service Area means the locations in which Cleaners Balham operates and is able to provide cleaners, predominantly Balham and nearby districts, as updated from time to time.
Agreement means the contract between Cleaners Balham and the Client formed in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
2. Scope of Services
Cleaners Balham provides a range of cleaning services across the Service Area. The specific type, frequency, and scope of the Services will be agreed at the time of booking, based on the Client’s requirements as described to us.
Any quotation or estimate is based on the information provided by the Client. If on arrival the property, premises, or items to be cleaned differ materially from the description provided, or if additional tasks are requested, Cleaners Balham reserves the right to adjust the price, time allocation, or staffing level accordingly.
Unless specifically agreed in writing, the Services do not include tasks such as lifting or moving heavy furniture, working at height beyond the reach of a standard domestic step ladder, cleaning outside windows that are not safely reachable from the ground, or any activity that may pose a health and safety risk to the Cleaner.
3. Booking Process
Bookings must be made directly with Cleaners Balham through our designated booking channels. The Client will be asked to provide accurate details, including full name, property address within our Service Area, contact information, type of property, preferred date and time, and the type of service required.
A booking is considered provisional until it has been confirmed by Cleaners Balham. Confirmation may be given verbally or in writing. Once confirmed, an Agreement is formed between the Client and Cleaners Balham on these Terms and Conditions.
For one off or end of tenancy services, Cleaners Balham may require additional information such as the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, whether the property is furnished, parking arrangements, and any special access instructions. The Client must ensure that we are informed of any security systems, entry codes, or concierge procedures that may affect access.
Cleaners Balham reserves the right to decline a booking request for any reason, including but not limited to limited availability, property location outside the Service Area, or where the requested tasks fall outside the scope of Services offered.
4. Access to the Property
The Client is responsible for ensuring that Cleaners Balham and the assigned Cleaner are able to gain access to the property at the agreed time. Access may be arranged by having the Client present to let the Cleaner in, leaving keys with a designated person, or by prior key arrangements agreed directly with Cleaners Balham.
If the Cleaner is unable to gain access at the scheduled time due to the Client’s fault, a missed appointment fee or full charge for the booked session may apply, at the discretion of Cleaners Balham. Waiting times caused by access issues may be deducted from the overall cleaning time.
5. Client Obligations
The Client agrees to provide a safe working environment for the Cleaner, including running water, electricity, adequate lighting, and safe access to all areas to be cleaned. Any known risks, hazards, or sensitivities, such as fragile items, alarm systems, or areas not to be cleaned, must be clearly communicated in advance.
The Client must ensure that any pets are supervised or secured so as not to interfere with the performance of the Services or endanger the Cleaner. The Client is responsible for supervising children and any other occupants present during the cleaning service.
The Client agrees not to directly employ or engage any Cleaner introduced by Cleaners Balham for cleaning services outside of this Agreement, unless expressly agreed in writing with Cleaners Balham. This restriction applies for the duration of the service provision and for a period of twelve months following the last service date.
6. Pricing and Payments
Prices for the Services are based on the type of cleaning, estimated duration, and size or condition of the property within the Service Area. Rates may be quoted as an hourly rate per Cleaner or as a fixed price for a particular service package.
Cleaners Balham reserves the right to review and adjust its prices periodically, including for regular cleaning services. Any changes to pricing will be communicated to the Client in advance and will apply to future bookings only.
Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due on completion of the service for each visit. For regular services, payments may be required on a weekly, fortnightly, or monthly basis in line with the agreed schedule. For one off and end of tenancy services, Cleaners Balham may require a deposit or full payment in advance to secure the booking.
Accepted payment methods will be advised by Cleaners Balham and may include bank transfer, card payment, or other recognised electronic payment methods. Cash payments may only be accepted where explicitly agreed in advance.
If payment is not received when due, Cleaners Balham reserves the right to charge interest on overdue amounts and to suspend further services until payment in full has been received. The Client is responsible for any reasonable costs incurred by Cleaners Balham in recovering unpaid amounts.
7. Cancellations and Rescheduling
The Client may cancel or reschedule a booking, subject to providing the required notice. For regular cleaning services, we generally require at least 24 hours notice. For one off or end of tenancy services, we may require at least 48 hours notice due to the longer time allocations typically involved.
Where the required notice is not provided, Cleaners Balham may charge a late cancellation fee of up to the full amount of the booked service. This is to cover the Cleaner’s reserved time and any associated costs.
If the Cleaner is unable to attend a booking due to illness, transport disruption, or other circumstances beyond reasonable control, Cleaners Balham will use reasonable efforts to offer an alternative Cleaner or reschedule the appointment. In such cases, no cancellation fee will apply to the Client.
Cleaners Balham reserves the right to cancel any booking or terminate the Agreement at any time where the Client is in breach of these Terms and Conditions, has unpaid balances, or where the continuation of the service is deemed unsafe or inappropriate.
8. Service Quality and Complaints
Cleaners Balham aims to deliver a consistent and professional cleaning service throughout the Service Area. The Client is encouraged to inspect the work as soon as reasonably possible after completion.
Any concerns or complaints about the quality of the service must be reported to Cleaners Balham promptly, and in any event within 24 hours of the service being carried out. Where a complaint is justified, Cleaners Balham will arrange for the relevant areas to be re cleaned or otherwise seek to resolve the issue in a fair and timely manner.
Complaints reported outside the 24 hour period may be harder to assess and may not be eligible for a re clean or other remedy, particularly where the condition of the property has changed after the service.
9. Liability and Insurance
Cleaners Balham will use reasonable care and skill in providing the Services. The Company maintains public liability insurance in respect of its cleaning activities within the Service Area.
The Client must notify Cleaners Balham of any alleged damage or loss caused by a Cleaner as soon as reasonably practicable and in any event within 24 hours of the service. Cleaners Balham may require photographic evidence or an inspection of the alleged damage. Failure to report within this timeframe may affect the ability to investigate or offer any remedy.
Cleaners Balham will not be liable for normal wear and tear, pre existing damage, deterioration due to age or poor condition, or for items that are incorrectly installed, unsecured, or inherently fragile, such as loose tiles, poorly fitted fixtures, or unsecured shelves.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Cleaners Balham shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of enjoyment arising out of or in connection with the Services. The total liability of Cleaners Balham in respect of any claim arising from a single service visit shall not exceed the price paid by the Client for that particular visit.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
10. Client Property and Keys
If the Client provides keys or access cards for entry to the property, Cleaners Balham will take reasonable steps to ensure they are kept safe and secure. Keys will be coded or stored in a manner that does not directly identify the Client’s address.
Cleaners Balham accepts no liability for loss or damage arising from keys already present at the property, defective locks, or issues with third party key holding arrangements that are not under our control.
The Client is advised not to leave cash, jewellery, or other valuables in plain sight. Cleaners Balham does not accept responsibility for alleged loss of valuable items that are not securely stored, particularly where other persons have access to the property.
11. Cleaning Products and Equipment
Cleaners Balham may provide cleaning products and basic equipment or may use the products and equipment supplied by the Client, depending on the service arrangement. Any specific product preferences, such as eco friendly solutions or allergy sensitive products, must be communicated in advance.
Where the Client supplies products or equipment, they are responsible for ensuring that such items are safe, in good working order, and suitable for the intended surfaces. Cleaners Balham accepts no liability for damage arising from the use of products or equipment supplied by the Client.
The Cleaner may decline to use any product or equipment that is clearly unsafe, unlabelled, or inappropriate for the surface to be cleaned.
12. Waste Regulations and Disposal
Cleaners Balham will comply with applicable waste regulations when handling and disposing of waste arising from cleaning activities in the Service Area. Ordinary household waste and recyclable items will be placed into the Client’s designated bins or waste containers, in line with local collection arrangements.
The Services do not include removal or transport of large quantities of waste, bulky items, renovation debris, hazardous substances, clinical waste, or electrical items, unless this has been expressly agreed in advance and is compliant with relevant regulations.
The Client is responsible for providing appropriate bins and for arranging council or private waste collections for regular household and commercial waste. Where waste disposal outside the property is requested, this must be agreed beforehand and may be subject to additional charges.
13. Health, Safety and Conduct
Cleaners Balham is committed to maintaining high standards of health and safety for both Clients and Cleaners. Cleaners are instructed to follow safe working practices, including the safe use of cleaning products and equipment.
The Client agrees not to request any tasks that may compromise health and safety, such as using unstable ladders, lifting excessive weights, or handling hazardous materials. Cleaners may refuse to perform any task that they consider unsafe or inappropriate.
Cleaners Balham expects all interactions between Clients and Cleaners to be conducted with respect and professionalism. Abusive, discriminatory, or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of the Services.
14. Data Protection and Privacy
Cleaners Balham will collect and process personal data provided by the Client for the purposes of managing bookings, delivering the Services, handling payments, and maintaining customer records. Personal information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
Client information will not be sold or disclosed to third parties except where necessary to provide the Services, process payments, comply with legal obligations, or where the Client has given explicit consent.
15. Amendments to these Terms
Cleaners Balham may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in the law, our services, or internal policies. The latest version will apply to any new bookings and to ongoing services after the Client has been notified of the changes.
Where a material change is made that significantly affects the Client’s rights or obligations, we will provide reasonable notice. Continued use of the Services after any such change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.
16. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them or the Services provided by Cleaners Balham, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or their subject matter.
17. Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, such provision shall be deemed deleted, but that shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
18. Entire Agreement
These Terms and Conditions, together with any confirmed booking details and service description, constitute the entire agreement between the Client and Cleaners Balham in relation to the provision of the Services and supersede any prior understandings, representations, or agreements, whether written or oral.
By making a booking or continuing to use the Services of Cleaners Balham, the Client acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
